As I mentioned before the garden has been going great for quite a while.  I took some pictures this afternoon to document how well it’s doing.

Garden Update

As I mentioned in my previous blog post a couple of days ago (or was it yesterday…I don’t know, I can’t remember things too well these days 🙂 ) I have a whole list of projects that are directly or indirectly related to the Imladris Gardens and to the house in general.  Top among these are:

  • Finishing the 4th garden bed
  • Building cold frames for a fall garden
  • Planning a fall garden
  • Getting the rain barrels finished up and installed
  • Planning and installing drip irrigation for the garden
  • Planning the next garden expansion
  • Permitting and building a more permanent deer fence
  • Mulching the garden paths
  • Increasing the size of the raised beds to 1′ height (from the current 6″ depth)

On top of that I’ve got to start working on clearing the back area of the property to build a more functional and permanent composting “center” as well as start looking into keeping chickens and bees on the property.  There’s a lot of work to be done…I’ll post some updated pictures of the garden tomorrow.
